CATHY  OTTON

"It really is amazing.  In a matter of hours, i went from not being able to read the eye chart at all to vision of 20/15!  The procedure itself is painless and lasts only several minutes, and the recovery time is minimal."

LASIK for only $1500 dollars per eye

99% Of Dr. Gelwans’ Patients See 20/20 Or Better After LASIK

Our diagnostic equipment helps provide us with the most accurate pre-procedure data to guarantee our excellent results. At the Laser Vision Institute we use LadarVision® technology along with our microkeratome, the Hansatome, which offers the safest up-down LASIK flaps.

LASIK or Laser in-Situ Keratomileusis offers a number of benefits over other forms of laser vision correction because it is performed under a protective layer of corneal tissue. As a result, there is less surface area to heal, less risk of scarring, less risk of corneal haze, less postoperative need for medications, and vision returns more rapidly, often within a day or so. LASIK can also treat a higher range of vision errors. Although postoperative results vary, most patients are able to pass a drivers' license test without their glasses or contact lenses.

LASIK has a rapid recovery time, 24 hours for most patients. It affords stable vision after treatment for most patients. And for the first time there is a procedure that can correct most prescriptions...including Myopia, Hyperopia, & Astigmatism.

Because laser vision correction is a surgical procedure, involving your eyes and your vision, you're bound to have questions. Commonly Asked Questions

The LADARWave™ CUSTOMCORNEA® Wavefront System lets the surgeon see refractive aberrations in clear and accurate, rotating 3-D images. How does LADARWave™ do this? First, the LADARWave™ sends low-energy laser light into the eye. The light reflects off the retina and travels back through the lens and cornea as an outgoing wavefront.

This wavefront is captured by the LADARWave™, which then measures it to determine both higher and lower order aberrations of the entire optical system. The aberrations are then displayed on-screen in precise 3-D images.

To then create a customized corneal ablation from the aberrometer measurements we digitally interface that data with the LADARVision® Excimer Laser System. The LADARVision® System incorporates the use of the LADARTracker™, a high-speed computerized eye tracking method that helps the surgeon enhance your treatment by providing precise registration of the laser beam to create a customized ablation surface
